Social Life: I So Have One I Think
After graduating from high school or prepa, many people face a big issue. Do I keep the social environment I am currently living in or do I branch out and create a new world for myself? This very problem happened to me a few years back and let's just say the decision was not that hard to make. I chose to move out of state for college and go to a university where none of my friends were going to attend. I actually went the furthest away from my hometown than anyone else in my graduating class. Many people asked, ¨Aren't you worried about being alone?¨ My response was very simple and to the point, ¨Nope.¨ Why be worried when I know there are billions of people on the planet, so by basic logic, there has to be at least a few other people who I have yet to meet you have similar interests as me.
It so turned out that my logic was correct. I meet people everywhere, from around the world and click instantly with people. The biggest key to make friends is to simply speak. Yes, this may come as a startling, anticlimactic conclusion, but it´s true. There is no reason to be shy talking to people who have never met before simply because they don't know anything about you. I'm not saying you should lie to make yourself more interesting than you already are, but take a second to look at the facts. New acquaintances have no idea of the embarrassing things you have done, nor do they know of any of the cool adventures you have had. Once, you get a conversation flowing on a topic of comfort, you are basically halfway to making a friend.
Anyway, so I made a lot of friends and continue to do it wherever I go. Some people say that having too many friends is not healthy. I say on the other hand that having a lot of friends opens a lot of doors of opportunity. Every person has something special to offer others. Be it exclusive access to a party, a discount at a great restaurant they work at, or simply knowledge that can be shared and past done from experience. Having an active social life has provided me with unforgettable memories and experiences. I ended up working at a ritzy pool party in Mexico as a model (hence picture), when I was actually simply invited to attend; scuba dived in some of the most amazing coral reefs in the world; and climbed to the peaks of some of the most dangerous mountains in Hawaii.
This section will be dedicating to the fun stuff life throws at me. Be it ridiculous, scandalous, or downright unbelievable.
